Obituary
Floyd Smith, 91, passed away Sunday, September 6, 1992 at his home in Britt, Iowa.
Floyd, the son of Charles and Matilda (Kline) Smith, was born February 14, 1901 in Monroe county. He received his education in the Russell High School.
On February 14, 1923, he was united in marriage with Icyle Hull at Chariton. The couple lived in Omaha for two years and then farmed in Lucas county. In 1939 they moved to Hancock county to a farm near Goodell and then to a farm near Britt in 1941. In 1969 the couple retired from farming and spent the winters in Texas. In 1985 they moved into Britt.
Floyd was a member of the Britt United Methodist Church, I.O.O.F. Lodge, and served two terms on the Britt Coop Board. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Icyle of Britt; a son, Charles and his wife Dorothy of Britt; a daughter Phyllis and her husband Robert Korneisel of Britt; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred and her husband Henry Frimodt of Bradenton, Florida; one brother, Peter Paul Smith of Woden, Iowa.
