Obituary
Fred William Schoby, 89, passed away Thursday, October 8, 1992 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.
Fred, the son of James and Margaret (Garrebrant) Schoby, was born November 25, 1902, in Algona, Iowa. He received his education in Algona Community School.
On May 1, 1928, he was united in marriage with Ruby LaRose at Algona, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Lu Verne and Algona area. In 1947 they moved to Britt, and owned and operated the Cabin Camp Resturant until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, nutting, card playing and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Walter, Chester, Howard, Hubert, Robert; a sister: Nellie Jenkinson and five grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; a son Fred Schoby Jr. and his wife, June of Latimer, Iowa; five daughters: Joan and her husband, Louie Sweers of Britt, Iowa; Marjorie and her husband, Dean Schnath of Hemet, California; Dorothy Hartinger of New Hope, Minnesota; Linda and her husband, Bernie Becker of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Kathy and her husband, Larry Munson of New Hampton, Iowa; 21 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
