Obituary
Gretchen Bertha Verbrugge, 78, passed away Saturday, September 28, 1991 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.
Bertha, the daughter of Ben and Gertrude (Eekhoff) Ruter, was born May 3, 1913 near Kanawha. She attended the coutnry schools in Wright County.
On September 9, 1948 she was united in marriage with Adrian Verbrugge. The couple made their home in Kanawha. For the past two years she had been a resident of the Kanawha Community Nursing Home in Kanawha.
Mrs. Verbrugge was an active member of the Wright Christian Reformed Church in Kanawha serving on the Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors include one son, C.J. Verbrugge and his wife, Kay of Grand Rapids, Michigan; one daughter, Mary Ann Heinen and her husband, Jack of Grand Rapids, Michigan; six grandchildren; one brother-in-law and several sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Adrian who passed away October 11, 1990; two sisters and six brothers.
