Obituary
Kathleen DeWall, 58, of Britt passed away Monday, August 30, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City.
Funeral services for Kathleen DeWall will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 707 4th Street SW, in Britt with Pastor Robert Dodge officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West, in Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Kathy was born July 28, 1952 in Algona, Iowa. She married Dale Eugene Dolphin on August 1, 1969 and to this union two children were born, Jeffery Dale and Kimberly Kay. Kathy married Edward William DeWall on February 25, 1981. From that day forward they referred to each other as “Dear.”
Kathy enjoyed camping, watching Jeff race, going to Alexa’s ball games, going shopping with Kim & Sherry, baking, canning, and spending time with family and friends.
Kathy worked at Winnebago Industries, North Iowa Electronics, she managed numerous restaurants throughout the years, and farmed with her husband Ed.
Kathy is survived by her husband Ed DeWall of Britt; her parents: Gloria (Donnie) Hiscocks of Britt, Norman DeYoung of Mason City. Children: Jeffrey Dale Dolphin (Sherry) of Britt & Kimberly Kay Dolphin (Mark) of Britt. Grandchildren: Alexa Kathleen Dolphin, Dustin James Schulz, and Alicen Abigail Cockrell. Siblings: Terri Sue Bagley-Lowe (Mike) of Mason City and Jeff Osmanson (Jeri) of Atlanta, Georgia. Nieces & Nephews: Casey, Candi, Kaylor, & Kennadie Patras, Eric Bagley and special friend Christy, Jennifer, and Jamie Osmanson. Aunts & Uncles: Connie Swecker, Dan & Joanne Plantz, and Donna Plantz. Many cousins.
Kathy was preceded in death by her Grandparents Richard & Ramona Plantz, Uncle Ron Plantz, Cousin Dean Plantz, and Brother-in-law Ray Bagley.
