Obituary
Lloyd R. Pletcher, 85, passed away Friday, January 17, 1997, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.
Lloyd, the son of Winton and Enna (Reitz) Pletcher, was born March 7, 1911, in Wright County near Kanawha, Iowa. He attended country schools. He was united in marriage with Florence Hecker, August 17, 1932, at the Little Brown CHurch in Nashua, Iowa. The couple farmed near Hayfield, Corwith, Garner and in 1959 moved to a farm near Kanawha until they retired and moved into Kanawha in 1973. Lloyd drove truck for several different companies from 1974 until 1979. The couple wintered in Texas. On June 4, 1984, Florence passed away. He was united in marriage with Ruth Johnson on July 1, 1985, at Kanawha. the couple made their home in Texas. Following the death of Ruth, he returned to the Britt area on May 1, 1990, where he lived until moving to Forest Haven Apartments in Forest City. Lloyd was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Britt, Iowa, the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, and the Silber Stars Senior Citizens Club of Britt. He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips to Canada.
Lloyd is survived by a son, Don and his wife, Vivian of Britt, IA; six grandchildren, Diane Eisenman, Britt, IA; Linda Hildman and husband, Luke of Britt, IA; John and special friend, Darlene of Britt, IA; Connie of Ankeny, IA; Bonnie Vavrik and husband, Bill of Britt, IA; Ron and wife, Lilia of San Jose, CA; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; three brothers, Leonard of Dodge Center, MN; Howard and wife, Evelyn of Alexander, MN; Bob and wife, Irene of Forest City, IA; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, Florence and Ruth, and one sister, Mildred Johnson.
