Lorraine Ida Rice, 64, passed away Sunday, January 13, 1991 at the North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa.
Lorraine, the daughter of Walter and Semla (Lucas) Drebenstedt, was born February 9, 1926 in Palmyra, Missouri. Lorraine moved to Iowa in 1940 and was a graduate of Sperry High School in Sperry, Iowa. Lorraine was the organist for St. John's United Church of Christ in Sperry, Iowa for many years. She was united in marriage with Norman Rice on July 17, 1972 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple made their home near Mason City. Lorraine was a legal secretary her entire life and for the past 16 years was employed by the law offices of Enabnit and Keen until her retirement in November 1990.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ in Mason City, Iowa and was a member of a Ladies Circle.
Survivors include her husband, Norman, a sister Genevieve and her husband Don Thie of Burlington, Iowa; a brother Stanley and his wife Marilyn Drebenstedt of Mediapolis, Iowa; step-children Linda Bass of Mountain Ranch, California; Sharon Nehls of Kansas City, Missouri; Margo Friemel of Bettendorf, Iowa; Alan Rice of Ames, Iowa; eight step-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
