Margaret 'Peggy' Black, age 82, of Belmond, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM on July 22, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Belmond with Pastor Jim Gochenouer officiating. Burial took place in the Belmond Cemetery in Belmond.
Margaret Ellen, daughter of David and Ida (DeMolen) Paro, was born on April 11, 1934 in Ewen, MI. She grew up in Bergland, MI, where she attended schools. Peggy graduated from Bergland High School in 1951. Peggy did further her schooling for a time studying interior design.
On April 9, 1954, Peggy was united in marriage with Bernard Black in Battle Creek, MI. They had and celebrated 54 wonderful years of marriage. The couple was blessed with two children Tina and David. The couple made their home in Battle Creek, and later in Kearney, NE; Mexico City and finally, the place they would always consider home, Belmond. Peggy worked as an interior decorator and several years at Printing Services in Belmond.
Peggy was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Belmond Golf and Country Club, and Belmond American Legion Auxiliary.
Peggy is survived by daughter, Tina (Tim) Hieb of Alda, NE; son David (Marlene) Black of Belmond; grandchildren Mandi, Chelsea, Amanda, Cody, David, Chris, Dylan; great-grandchildren Dominic, Logan, Delaney, Natalie, Blake, Brayden, London, Trinity, and Greyson; sister Glenna (Jim) Lentz of Cool Ridge, NE; and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernie, and three brothers David, Bill, and Chuck.
