Margaret Jane (Ambrose) Quigley

Obituary

Our gentle, kind, loving and steadfast Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014. She was 90 years old. "Jane" as she preffered to be called, was the only child of Clyde and Lillian (Sebert) Ambrose. She was born on April 24, 1924 in Belmond and was raised in the Belmond/Clarion area. Jane graduated from the Clarion High School in 1941 and receieved a Normal Training Teaching Certificate and taught school at Pleasant #5, east of Belmond, and also with a "War Time Certificate" taught school at Grant #3. She was so very proud of her time spent teaching school.

In 1944, Jane married Paul F. Quigley and they lived in Belmond for many years. Paul's work took them to Des Moines in 1958. In 1960, they moved to Clear Lake where they continued to raise their family until Paul's untimely death in 1971. After the death of her husband, Jane worked tirelessly, as a single parent, to finish raising her youngest two children. Her proudest service was her 31 years as a realtor in the Clear Lake area.

Jane and Paul were blessed with 5 children, Paul F. Quigley Jr (deceased), Patricia (Graham) Quigley, Jeffrey (deceased), Peggy (Ballard) Quigley, and Micael; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. Jane cherished the time spent with her famiily and was happiest when her children and grandchildren were at her side. Jane never remarried but was happy enjoying her hobbies of sewing, scrapbooking, reading, and shopping. Jane always made time to help her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, and sons Paul Jr. and Jeff.

Mom, as we look back over time, we find ourselves wondering, "Did we remember to thank you enough for being  such an amazing Mother." You know, simple things like laughter, smiles, and the wonderful times we shared. Just incase, we are gratefully thanking you now, as we hope and pray you knew all along how much you meant to us.
