Obituary


Marjorie Eileen Anderson age 81, of Latimer, passed away Friday November 18, 2005. Funeral Services will be held 10:30A.M.Tuesday November 22, 2005 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer with Pastor Meyer officiating. Interment will be held in Humeston Cemetery near Humeston, Iowa at a later date.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00P.M. Monday November 21, 2005 at Ewing Dugger Helgeson Funeral Home 320 East Street and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Marjorie Eileen Anderson, daughter of Leo W. And Maude Yates Clark was born December 28, 1923 in Derby, IA. After graduation from high school in 1941, she attended AIB College in DesMoines.

She was united in marriage to Harry E. Anderson on September 7, 1946 in DesMoines, IA. They moved to Plymouth, IA where they lived until 1960. At that time they relocated to Kanawha, IA. In 1964 the family moved to the CAL area.

After losing her husband, Harry, in 1966, she began working for the CAL School District as the Board of Education Secretary. She retired in 1986.

Marge belonged to the United Church of Christ in Latimer. She volunteered and spent several years doing the church newsletter. She also delivered Meals on Wheels and was an Upper Room Member of Philathea. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, the Latimer Park Society, served on the Election Committee, and served on the Latimer Development Corporation for sixteen years.

She loved her volunteer work in the community and at the CAL School. In 2002 she was honored by the Kappa Delta Gamma receiving the Volunteer Educator of the Year Award.

Marge loved playing cards, golfing, and bowling. She really enjoyed the “Retirees” monthly outings, but above all she loved and enjoyed her children and grandchildren

Marge is survived by her daughters; Christina Tillinghast and husband Tom of DesMoines, IA, Carla Koch of Alexander, and Karen Waage and husband Steve of Latimer, three grandchildren; Stephanie, Christopher, and Nicholas all of DesMoines, one great granddaughter; Francesca Josephine also of DesMoines.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, and her parents Leo and Maude Clark.
