Obituary
Myrna Jean Heineman, 54, passed away Saturday, March 2, 1991 at the family home near Britt, Iowa.
Myrna, the daughter of Franklin and Marion (Gonnerman) Scheffler was born February 16, 1937 in Dixon, Illinois. Myrna graduated from Franklin Grove High School in 1953. She attended air line school in Omaha, Nebraska and was later employed with an air line based in Chicago, Illinois. She then attended Wartburg College and taught in Arlington, Iowa and Sterling, Illinois elementary school systems. She was united in marriage to Laverne Heineman on August 14, 1960 at Dixon, Illinois where the couple made their home. The couple later moved to Fayette where she attended Upper Iowa, graduating in 1964 with a BA degree in Education. In 1972, the couple moved to the Britt area where she was employed with the Britt Tech Corporation, Handicap Village and North Central Human Services.
Myrna's life centered around her family and she enjoyed watching sports.
Myrna was preceded in death by her father; and an infant brother Melvin.
Survivors include her husband Laverne of Britt, a son, Lanny and his wife Frances of Tampa, Florida; two daughters, Janet and Heidi at home, a grandson Cody, her mother, Marion Stouffer of Dixon, Illinois; three sisters, Anna Lou and husband Dennis Vaille of Kingwood, Texas; Shirley and husband James Devine of Dixon, Illinois; Linda and husband Richard Dewer of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; three brothers, John and wife Penny of Venedy, Illinois; Phillip and wife Sandy, and Wesley and wife Mary both of Dixon, Illinois and a brother-in-law Keith and wife Susan who made his home with Laverne and Myrna when he was 10 years old.
