Obituary


Roseland "Rosie" Claude, 75, passed away Sunday, January 31, 1999, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City, Iowa.

Rosie, the daughter of Thomas Frank and Pearl Gouge Adreon, was born May 15, 1923 at her parents' home in rural Corwith.  Rosie was united in marriage with Charles Claude on March 30, 1941 in Algona, Iowa.  The couple made their home in Corwith, where she was a life long resident.

Rosie was employed at the Howard-Henning Veterinary Office in Corwith for a time.  In 1968 the couple opened Claude Plumbing and Heating where Rosie worked as bookkeeper until she suffered a stroke in 1989.

Rosie enjoyed caring for her roses.  She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church, April 17, 1960 and was a member of the Miriam Circle.

Rosie is survived by her husband, Charles; two daughters: Charlotte Claude of Corwith, Iowa, Phyllis Bosworth and her husband Marvin of Corwith, Iowa; son Terry Claude and his fiancee Tammy of Clear Lake, Iowa; three grandchildren: Jason Bosworth, Andrea Bernhard, Sybil Johnson; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lurlia Fisher and her husband Ray of Klemme, Iowa, Rena Freiberg of Corwith, Iowa; two brothers: Dayton Adreon and his wife Lois of Britt, Iowa, Allen Adreon and his wife Beth of Marengo, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Fred Claude and sister-in-law, Doris Claude.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Frank and Pearl Gouge Adreon, three brothers: Phillip, Glen, and Leon Adreon; sister, Irma Adreon.
