Obituary
Ruth Jane Thompson, 77, passed away Saturday, October 26, 1991 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
Ruth, the daughter of John and Frona (Money) Hutches, was born July 24, 1914, at Union, Iowa. She attended the schools in the Thompson area.
On February 22, 1936, she was united in marriage with Orville Thompson at Forest City. The couple farmed in the Forest City area until 1948 when they moved to a farm west of Britt. They continued farming until 1977 when they moved into Britt.
Ruth was a member of the United Methodist Church in Britt, the Esther Circle of the United Methodist Women Society and the Birthday Club-Neighborhood Club. Her hobbies included flower gardening, sewing, cooking and crafts.
Survivors include her husband, Orville of Britt; three children: Tommy and his wife, Janet of Rockwell; Janice Hetland and her husband, Dean of Ellsworth; Eugene and his wife, Bonnie of Laurens; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters: Mamie Welch of Bodfish, California; Marie Peterson of Thompson; Margaret Fox of Seattle, Washington; Carol Ludeman of Mason City; two brothers: Ralph Hutchens of California and Clyde Hutchens of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harold and one niece, Caroline.
