Obituary
Terry J. Gatton, Sr., 56, of Swea City, passed away Friday March 30, 2007 in Waverly, Nebraska.
Terry, the son of Kenneth and LaVon (Smith) Gatton, was born February 26, 1951 in Algona, Iowa. He grew up in the Wesley area, and graduated from Titonka High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country until he was discharged in 1981.
On May 4, 1973 Terry was united in marriage with Peggy Stites in Crooks, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Minnesota after Terry was discharged from the service.
Terry was employed at Polaris Industries and later spent 28 years on the road as a truck driver. He was currently employed by Spencer Livestock.
His grandchildren were very important to him and he loved riding his Harley.
Terry is survived by his wife Peggy; three children: Tyan Brede and husband J.R. of Sherburn, Minnesota, Terry Gatton, Jr. and wife Joni of Ceylon, Minnesota, Jeremy Gatton and wife Billie of Sherburn, Minnesota; nine grandchildren: Teah, Ricky, Terry III, MiKayla, Tommy, Dale, Lacey, Emma, and Jack; his parents Kenneth and LaVon Gatton of Algona; three brothers: Walter Gatton and wife Dorothy of Belmond, Don Gatton and wife Cathy of Algona and Keith Gatton of Forest City; sister-in-law Cora Batton of Britt and brother-in-law Ron Stites of Britt.
