Obituary


Warren L. Ruberg, 86, of Clarion passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Ullensvang Lutheran Church, 105 Ann Street in Thor. Graveside service at Ullensvang Lutheran Church Cemetery after visitation. Luncheon will follow the graveside service back at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Warren Lee, son of Peter and Wilma (Kubly) Ruberg, was born on August 26, 1935 near LuVerne. Warren grew up in the LuVerne area and attended Vernon School near Renwick. After high school, Warren joined the US Army in 1954. He was stationed in Korea during the Korean War. Warren was honorably discharged in 1956. After returning back home, Warren started driving truck for Felco, later Land O’Lakes, and retired after 36 years.

Warren was united in marriage to Joyce Olson on November 2, 1962 at the Methodist church in Humboldt. Together they raised their three children, Lonnie, Mike, and Lori.

While the kids were growing up, Warren enjoyed going on family vacations and camping trips. He loved to hunt and fish, especially when any of his grandchildren called and wanted to go fishing. After retirement, Warren enjoyed playing games on his Kindle.

Warren was a member of the Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor. In 2003, Warren and Joyce moved to Clarion.

Warren is survived by his wife Joyce of Clarion; son Lonnie (Deb) Ruberg of Hardy; daughter Lori (Steve) Hurst of Renwick; former daughter-in-law Tracy Glossen of Dakota City; grandchildren Cassie (Matt) Markman, Amanda (Nate) Fischer, Shawn (Megan) Ruberg, Logan (Kelsy) Anderson, and Dustin Ruberg; great-grandchildren Austin and Sam Markman, Carter, Arianna, and Kayde Fischer, Sophie and Grayson Ruberg, and Jaxsyn Anderson; and numerous other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by son Mike; grandson Tanner; parents Peter and Wilma; brother Francis; and sisters Harriet Siemans and Alicia Long.
